I'm LM: I've been a writer since I was a child. I have written about life and death; I have written about happiness and melancholy. I am from Colombia and my poems, chronicles and in general my writings are in Spanish. But here, I am learning English and I have discovered the beauty of this language through my heart and my pen❤️

Mixed Media Artist Codie Aljets grew up in a small rural town in Southern IL. He was around his family business most of his young life. They owned mechanic shops and a body shop so he started working with his hands at a young age. In 2012 Codie and his wife, Brie, moved to Crested Butte and decided this is where they wanted to start their family. They now reside North of Gunnison with their 7 Year old son, Cullem. In November 2021 Codie was asked to leave Crested Butte Fire Protection DIstrict due to medical directives. Codie had served with CBFPD since 2013 and had been full time since 2019. He decided to pursue his dream of being a full time artist. Codie had a perspective change in April 2020. He was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colorectal Cancer. Upon going through this he decided to follow his true passion and go full time as an artist with his family's support. Codie has now been cancer free for over 3 yrs and is committed to his family time and creating some of the coolest metal art on the planet. He is confident that this is just a sample of the creativity and detailed work to come! Daydreams and Joy
Carolyn Huresky creates unique and modern polymer clay jewelry along with three-dimensional paper shadowboxes. Her polymer clay pieces are made by conditioning, rolling, cutting, baking, and polishing the clay. She molds, forms, and makes each piece of clay in the jewelry which gives every piece its own unique aesthetic and energy. Layers of cardstock are intricately cut and assembled to create three-dimensional pieces of art. White cardstock is used in her illuminated shadowboxes to reveal an incredible scene once lit up. She also creates shadowboxes that pop with color. Carolyn’s shadowbox work has been geared towards familiar sights in Crested Butte and Colorado. With so much in the area for inspiration, she’s taken her love for the outdoors and created various scenes that are dear to her. You can see Mt. Crested Butte, Gothic Mountain, Paradise Divide, and other local landmarks in her work. Notecards and prints of her work are also available. Please visit Carolyn’s studio and shop, Daydreams and Joy, at 309 6th Street, Unit B (in the back of the pink building at the 4-way stop).

Raynor Czerwinski Photography
For over 20 years, Raynor has been chasing light and capturing beautiful moments on camera. My goal when photographing is simply to be present, to accept what is given and find the beauty in that. Detachment, like the camera itself, is an integral part of Raynor’s art. “Letting go leaves room for variation, room for the unknown to happen, and that’s where some incredible things can happen”. The Japanese have, for centuries, understood the value of “wabi-sabi,” or “perfect imperfection” and Raynor has similarly been able to embrace the inconsistencies that photography can create. “I’m trying to be an imperfectionist, really, in my photography, to leave room for mistakes or anomalies. That’s where the real beauty comes from,” Raynor says. “Of course, strive for greatness in your craft. But perfection? … it’s not for me.” You can see more of Raynor’s work or learn about his photography tours at the Crested Butte Fine Art Gallery at 403 3rd Street in Crested Butte.
Xavier Fane Photography
My Instagram account sums it up pretty well: “A life ahead, a life behind and many mountains in between”. After a lifetime spent roaming and living in them, it is an undeniable fact that they have shaped the way I contemplate life, both through bare eyes and behind the lenses. I don’t consider myself a “landscape photographer” per se, I try to do my best in capturing the emotions they instill in me, sometimes tender, sometimes muscular, always soulful

Shannon Dunn Original Art and Commission
A Chicago-area native, Shannon Dunn attended Illinois State University where she studied Art and Education. Once a K-12 art teacher, Shannon now focuses her energy full time on creating art. She is a multi-discplinary artist working 2-dimensionally with Oil paints, Acrylic and Ink and 3-dimensionally with Sculpture materials and Resin. She is primarily a narrative surrealist, although her style and subject matter vary depending on where her imagination takes her. Shannon’s artwork is largely inspired by the natural world. Her art practice serves as both the interpretive process and product of her life and surroundings. She considers herself a visual storyteller; wherein figures, animals and natural elements become metaphors for the human experience. Ultimately, her goal as an artist is to cultivate connection with the Divine, the natural world, other people and herself through curiosity and exploration driven pursuit of visual storytelling. Shannon’s work has been shown in various solo and group exhibitions at galleries and public venues throughout Colorado. When Shannon is not creating in her studio at https://www.thesluicecos.com/, you can find her at her cabin in Crested Butte, trail running and biking, paddling rivers and reservoirs, cooking and baking for her family and friends and snuggling with her beloved pups. She currently resides in Colorado Springs, CO with her husband and two children.

Jenny Hill
Jenny Hill grew up outside of Austin, Texas in the little town of Dripping Springs. As a kid, she was surrounded by music. Her childhood was full of potluck parties where music and food were of equal importance. Texas swing, classic country, bluegrass, and fiddle tunes filled the house late into the night and were a soundtrack to her early years. When she was just six years old, she began learning the fiddle from her dad and from the great Mary Hattersley. These experiences instilled a love and sense of music within her. The beauty and challenge of storytelling is delivering a story justly and gracefully. This is the goal for multi-instrumentalist Jenny Hill. Her music is of the people, places, experiences, and happen-chances that have shaped her life and the lives of those around her. In her music, she delivers these tales honestly and naturally on guitar, banjo, and fiddle. Life is beautiful and painful and moving. It deserves to be captured. She chooses to do so in song.

Susan Marrion Art
I am a full-time working artist/oil painter/gallery owner (Crested Butte Fine Art Gallery) and blessed to be surrounded by Crested Butte’s natural beauty for over 25 years. I paint whatever I am pulled to exploring, but I enjoy impressionistic landscapes the most. Since I was a child, I have always felt my happiest and most authentic in nature, spending many childhood days horse back riding through the woods and trails of the northeast, and now as an adult, backpacking and mountain biking in the mountains of Colorado. I was often found observing, contemplating and writing poetry of my impressions, but then was introduced to oil painting in 2004 and the vehicle of expression changed from pen to brush. Attempting to express and share the beauty I see and feel outdoors is why I paint.
